Open letter to the FCK board

Dear management of F.C. Copenhagen,

We are writing this open letter to you on behalf of F.C. Copenhagen Fan Club and its members, because we are no longer just concerned. We are genuinely shaken and shocked by the situation the club finds itself in – and has been in for quite some time. A development that perhaps only became fully clear and alarming when we missed the top six on Sunday, and reality suddenly became unmistakably clear to all of us.

Spring Is Just Around the Corner

The autumn was a mixed bag. In late summer, we were all on a high after yet another qualification for the Champions League — but the higher you fly, the harder you fall. In the league, our performances were seriously lacking, and the team never really seemed to find a proper rhythm. That left us in 5th place at the end of the autumn, which is the worst position since the 2017/18 season, excluding the COVID season, which had fewer matches before Christmas, where F.C. Copenhagen went into the winter break in 6th place, a full 18 points behind F.C. Midtjylland.

The Board Has the Floor

At the end of October, there was something to celebrate, as Lower C marked its 30th anniversary as a fan stand. In fact, it was already in the spring of 1995 that the stand was first used as a supporters’ section. However, the anniversary was only officially celebrated during the home match against Viborg FF on Sunday, October 26.

Criticizable Conditions for Away Fans at Monjasa Park

On behalf of F.C. Copenhagen’s official fan club (FCKFC), we hereby submit an official complaint regarding the unsatisfactory conditions that our members and other traveling fans encountered at the match between FC Fredericia and F.C. Copenhagen on August 1, 2025.

We acknowledge that you managed, in a very short time, to increase stadium capacity from 4,000 to 10,000 spectators following promotion to the Superliga, and it is impressive that you expanded Monjasa Park so quickly.

Statement from the F.C. Copenhagen Fan Club regarding the location of the Cup Final

The F.C. Copenhagen Fan Club finds it deeply unsatisfactory that this year’s cup final has been moved to MCH Arena in Herning – a stadium with a capacity of only 12,000 spectators. This week’s two semi-finals in the cup tournament attracted a combined audience of over 35,000 spectators, clearly showing the widespread, nationwide interest in the tournament. In light of the commitment from both finalists and the final's status as a celebration of football across Denmark, it is highly regrettable that such limited conditions have been chosen for the match.

The fans deserve better conditions for the cup final

On Thursday, April 3rd, the Divisionsforeningen (Danish League Association) announced their plan for the organization of the 2025 cup final. We recognize the need for safety considerations at major matches, but we are disappointed and puzzled that fan organizations have not been part of the process leading to the chosen solutions.

After the most recent derby at Brøndby Stadium, we expressed concerns about the safety of our traveling fans due to repeated security failures in and around the away section.

Copenhagen Must Stand for Solidarity and Social Responsibility

In the F.C. Copenhagen Fan Club, we have followed the debate over the past few days regarding one of FCK’s owners and his statements about the war in Ukraine.

For us, it is clear that F.C. Copenhagen, as a club, has taken on an important social responsibility in connection with the war.

Football Seminar Focused on Fan Engagement and Debate

There is always a risk that fan clubs can get stuck in inefficient workflows simply because of the mindset: “This is how we’ve always done it.” That’s why we greatly appreciate the opportunity for knowledge-sharing at these seminars.
