The Fan Committee: Letters from FCKFC and S12 were a kick up the backside

The idea of the Fan Committee arose long before it became a reality about a month ago.

When the members of the recently formed Fan Committee sit down at the table for the first time in about a month, it will be three years overdue.

That is acknowledged by F.C. Copenhagen’s Commercial Director, Mikkel Grove Lindsted, in the podcast Kvart i Bold’s program Fodboldkontoret.

The idea of a fan committee first came to Mikkel Grove Lindsted three years ago and was received positively across both the organization and the fan environment.

- But then, to be honest, we also have to say that we didn’t really do anything more about it. It was a good idea that never developed any further for various reasons, the Commercial Director tells the fan media outlet.

At the end of 2025, he was formally given responsibility for the club’s fan-related work in terms of strategy, policy, and similar matters.

Fan letters sped up the process

On the other side of New Year, a sporting collapse awaited the club, and frustration among fans culminated in a couple of written broadside attacks from FCKFC and Section 12.

These broadsides included some criticism that Mikkel felt missed the mark, but also some direct hits — such as the call to finally make the idea of a fan committee a reality.

- So in some respects, it was also a kick up the backside, and that was entirely fair, he says.

On March 27, we and FCK.dk were able to report the news that the idea of a fan committee was now being put into practice.

Initially, the committee is expected to focus on fan strategy, the fan experience, and new initiatives for supporters. You can read more about the new committee here.
